A few weeks ago in Madrid, I came across the coolest little concept shop in the Chueca neighborhood called DO Design. It had an calming aesthetic, similar to that of Creatures of Comfort in Soho, yet was about 100 times warmer and more inviting (duh, Spanish people..).
From super duper lightweight hand-printed scarves to smooth and simple ceramic bowls to a pocket pen by Steve Mono that my husband almost splurged on, I basically was ready to shell out howevermuch in customs duties to take essentially everything back to NYC with me.
And there's one specific item that I'm still especially sad that I didn't.
The Little Necklace by Sara Lasry , an independent Madrid/Brooklyn-based designer whose slim jewelry approach just blew my mind, invades my dreams daily. From the seriously barely there chain, dangles one teeny tiny raw diamond for the faintest, sexiest hint of sparkle.
I'm telling you–this baby may not look like anything overly special, but in real life it is PERFECTION.
