Crawl Up My Ear, PLEASE!

Ariel Gordon Ear Crawlers

Ariel Gordon Ear Crawlers

A while back, in a spurt of feeling especially free and bohemian in Israel, I decided it was a great idea to get a second piercing on one of the inner folds of my left ear. Though it killed, I must say: bad-a$$ (for me) it most definitely was.

Nonetheless, in time I let the hole close up. If I only I knew that a 90's revival would be happening in full force in just a few years time...

So yeah, I don't think I'll be getting pierced again anytime soon. But luckily I've found a great–and decidedly gentler–way to attain the multi-earring look.

How cute are Ariel Gordon's Ear Crawlers? I'm obsessed with their subtle hint of edge and the way they flatter the lobe (Flatter the lobe?! Flatter the lobe!).

Plus, instead of getting needled at a shady Jerusalem parlor, you can find them within a few painless ShopBop clicks.

Tough girl? No way. But nowadays, that's close enough for me.

Too Good To Not Share: Cookies from Culture Espresso

For the past few weeks I've been freelancing at a cool, small ad agency called Sideways NYC. While I was at first skeptical that its location, just steps from Penn Station, would excite me in any way, shape, or how, I now definitely take that back.

Aside from midtown being the home to COUNTLESS daily sample sales (PRO), it's also the neighborhood where a little coffee shop on 38th (between 7th and 8th) called Culture Espresso sells literally the BEST chocolate chip cookies EVER.

PEOPLE: these things are as tall at least three normal size cookies, and so incredibly gooey and chocolatey that you can only handle a few bites.

JUST KIDDING–you can totally eat the whole thing, which will probably gain you about 2.5 lbs on contact, but is COMPLETELY WORTH IT and will bring you GREAT JOY.

Take that, Levain.

Social Media, Simplified

I couldn't help but share this simplified take on social media that one of my LinkedIn contacts recently posted.

And just to add a few:

SNAPCHAT: Look at my donut before it's gone FOREVER.
PERISCOPE: Eat this donut with me RIGHT NOW.
VINE: Check out this 360 degree look at my donut.
TUMBLR: This donut is a masterwork of personal expression.

A Little Necklace That's a Big Deal

A few weeks ago in Madrid, I came across the coolest little concept shop in the Chueca neighborhood called DO Design. It had an calming aesthetic, similar to that of Creatures of Comfort in Soho, yet was about 100 times warmer and more inviting (duh, Spanish people..).

From super duper lightweight hand-printed scarves to smooth and simple ceramic bowls to a pocket pen by Steve Mono that my husband almost splurged on, I basically was ready to shell out howevermuch in customs duties to take essentially everything back to NYC with me.

And there's one specific item that I'm still especially sad that I didn't.

The Little Necklace by Sara Lasry , an independent Madrid/Brooklyn-based designer whose slim jewelry approach just blew my mind, invades my dreams daily. From the seriously barely there chain, dangles one teeny tiny raw diamond for the faintest, sexiest hint of sparkle.

I'm telling you–this baby may not look like anything overly special, but in real life it is PERFECTION.

Product Review: L'Eau Serge Luten

THE PROMISE: Light, fresh, clean scent featuring notes of White Mint Blossom, elegant Magnolia and earthy Musk.

THE REALITY: Cheap hair salon where stylist snuck in a cigarette break before finishing your blowout.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Skip.
